Few days ago I bought a wireless router with a good ISP. The speed is around 4-5 MBPS! But strangely I could sense that instant messengers like yahoo and gmail are lagging despite of the high speed. So, i tried to use yahoo on the old wired connection (256 kbps) and it worked fine.
I searched over the web to find whats wrong with my connection but there's no information available. I connected internet using other wireless modem with different ISP and had the same problem. Strange that instant messengers lags because of the latency of pinging in wireless connections. Forget about online gaming on this type of connections. Infact, many games like world of warcraft, do not recommend wireless.satellie connections!
So, I suggest you people to go for a wired connection if you want to play online games which requires a low latency connection.
